My name's Ellie Homer and I'm an 18 year old from Brighton.

From a young age I always loved taking charge of situations and getting jobs done properly. I remember watching the film ‘The wedding planner’ and being inspired at how everyone listened to main character. She was organised and respected as a wedding planner and knew what she wanted. Since then I knew I wanted a job with power and organisation. However It wasn’t until this year discovered the job of an events manager. After some research I knew this job was for me.

I also have a part time job at Bagelman in Brighton station, not only do I love this job as I get to speak to new people everyday it has given me essential life skills over the past 18 months. I now have experience with handling money and cashing up a till, something I’m sure will come in handy in the future. I have very good communication skills from talking to customers and helping them get the best service. This will help me in the future when dealing with clients I’m planning events for.

Over the years I have always been the one to organise stuff within my friendship group, whether it's how to get home after a night out, what festivals to go to or planning parties themselves. I thoroughly enjoy this task and see it as a part of my life rather than a chore which other people might.

Before coming to Northbrook, I went to Bhasvic college where I studied Maths, Chemistry and Classics. I passed my end of year exams and went into second year, however when I returned from summer holidays I realised I didn’t enjoy what I was doing. Already knowing I wanted to do Events Management in the future, I found this course and the rest is history.
