On the 23d March the FMP deadline was changed from the 11th June to the 28th May. My initial plan was to produce 5 videos, as I now have a shorter length of time for make them I have decided to only make 4. If everything goes to plan I should be able to finish within the deadline. 

I wanted to record the videos on my Iphone as I don't own a camera and the camera quality on my phone is very high quality. I wanted to test what the audio sounded like filming in the photography studio. As it is a large room with high ceilings I thought it would be really echoey. I shot a test video of Grace and Indy talking and as I presumed the sound wasn't very good. There is also a massive extractor fan which makes a lot of noise. I'm going to see if the music technicians have any clip on microphones or use one of the recording microphones.

After speaking with the music technicians, I decided to use the clip on microphones. Not only will this give the video a more professional look but I will gain a new skill in being able to set them up. There is only 2 microphones though so instead of filming with 4 students at once I'm going to film with 2 pairs of students and then editing the footage together.

My plan was to pair each video I make with a specific musical that the musical theatre students are performing. However, when I saw the spreadsheet of musicals it wasn't what I expected it to be. I didn't really know any of the musicals and they didn't provide the right content for the questions I had in mind. 

Once we arrived to the photography studio to begin filming I realised that only one of the microphones worked. I didn't have enough time to get a technician to help so I decided to just use the one working microphone and situate it between the students. This won't be as good as two microphones however it will be better quality than my phone microphone. 

As I have never edited audio and picture before it is taking me a lot longer than I anticipated so I have decided to change my final plan again. Instead of 4 videos I'm going to just do the two that I have already filmed. This way I can make sure they are edited to a high quality without rushing to finish to film the next two.
