WEEKLY DIARIES
Week beginning 14/9
This week we started planning our different pages for the culture channel. My initial idea for my own page is to do a gossip blog post about my life and being a teenager. Each week i'm going to upload a different story which will cover a general topic however I will talk about my own personal stories within this topic.
I want the theme of my page to be pink and I plan on making the graphics in Darrens Friday lessons. I want the website to be easy to read but fun and interesting at the same time.
Week beginning 21/9
I have decided to change the idea of my blogs to have it less away from a gossip blog and more towards how coronavirus has effected my teenage life. I think more people will relate to this as I'm going to cover differences that everyone has faced during a pandemic.
I've decided I'm going to produce my first podcast in two weeks time. This will be a pilot episode which I will show to the class to get feedback. With this feedback I will add and alter ideas to my next podcast.
Week beginning 28/9
Morgan had an idea that I should do a survey about what to do my podcasts on. I think this is a good idea as I can talk about stuff people actually want to hear rather than what I think they want to hear.
I've also decided each blog post and podcast is going to be a song title. All of these will create a spotify playlist which I will have on my page. This links in to the rest of the culture channel as it incorporates music.
Week beginning 5/10
I had a change of plan this week and decided to make the pilot podcast this week rather than next. I decided to do this first as I was meeting my friend Olive and I knew she would love to be a part of it. I also wanted to have enough time to play around and get the hang of how to use anchor.
The podcast went very well and I found the editing very easy to use. From my initial thoughts, I've decided that next time I'm going to record it in a smaller room/ a booth as the sound echos. My phone was on a table, when recording, situated closer to me than Olive. My voice is a lot louder than hers in the audio. Next time I'll make sure the phone/microphone is exactly in the middle.
Week beginning 12/10
This week I started making my logo. I will describe in detail on my 'Making my logo' page all the different ways I decided on my final logo. I wanted the logo the represent me but not be too full on. Simple but effective.
Week beginning 19/10
This week was the deadline for my pilot episode. I wanted it to be the exact set up of my actual posts but wasn't going to be as in detail. I know how to write my blogs and what I want to talk about in my podcasts however I haven't decided how I want it displayed. This pilot is for me to decide on the final layout of Ellie's corner.
Week beginning 2/11
I decided to take a week out of the culture channel to decide on my uni course and where I wanted to apply. I did a lot of research on UCAS to decide what I wanted to do. I also tried to start my personal statement however I found this really hard.
