PRACTICAL SKILLS
I confirm that the attached assessment is all my own work and does not include any work completed by anyone other than myself and sources have been appropriately referenced.
MAKING MY LOGO
As I am continuing Ellie's corner from the MET connect website, I already had my logo made. I thoroughly enjoyed making the logo as I got to learn new skills in photoshop. Here are some of the steps I took in developing the logo.

Making cartoon me
Not only did making this logo challenge and expand my knowledge and ability of graphic design but I feel as if it really represents Ellie's corner well. It is simple but effective as it conveys the laid back outlook I have on life. I want Ellie's corner to be seen as a welcoming platform and I believe this is shown visually through the logo.

MAKING MY WEBSITE
_edited.jpg)
As I am transferring Ellie's corner from the MET connect website onto my own, I already have the design I want. I made this cover out of pictures of my friends and I as I feel it conveys the qualities and feel that I believe Ellie's corner represents.

I added the logo on top of the cover to create a header for the website. Sticking to the pink theme, I made the background a soft baby pink and added a menu bar under the header. For the rest of the home page I wanted to keep it simple so I just added my instagram feed. This automatically updates every time I post so there is no need for me to keep editing the website.
Overall, I really like the finished look of the website. It has a personal touch but also maintains a professional look. The colour coordination is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The website is also easy to navigate and kept to the point.
TESTING MICROPHONES
Before filming I wanted to test out how to use the microphones as I don't have much knowledge around this. Making a test video would teach me how to set up everything and also give me an idea of how to edit. The music technicians showed me how to set it up and then gave me a list of all the equipment to ask for on the day of filming:
-
Microphones
-
XLR Cable
-
Sound box ssl2
I then recorded a test video with Grace. When editing this I removed the film audio and replaced it with the microphone audio. It took me a while to sync them up and the practise video isn't perfect however it has helped my knowledge and understanding of what I'll have to do when editing the final videos.
INSTAGRAM PROMOTION
After Indy sent me all the behind the scenes pictures, I began promoting on the @elliescornerr instagram page.
As I use instagram a lot in my free time I have a pretty good understanding of what gets good follower engagement. I shared the account with my friends and the musical theatre students and started to gain followers. I have since been posting frequently and gaining more followers. Each post gets a number of likes and comments and I have also received great feedback from the musical theatre students about the pictures.
EDITING VIDEOS

I decided to edit the videos on imovie as I had used it in the past so I have an understanding of what to do. I started off by swapping all the footage audio with the microphone audio. This took me a while to get perfect and you can still hear the extractor fan in the background. This is annoying however I have learnt now that loud sounds like that are unavoidable.
Editing the footage I broke down each video and chose the answers I liked. As I filmed each video with 2 different sets of students, it breaks up the video nicely whilst also adding a number of different opinions and answers.
